WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
In order to offer our services, we need to collect information from our users.
We collect personal information that you directly and voluntarily provide to us when you create an account or use the service and connect with CASH YOUR PASSION, AFRICA from third party platforms. We also automatically collect some data, such as information about your device and what parts of our Services you interact with or spend time using.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with any of our platforms or services, the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect can include the following:
Profile data: We collect first name, maiden name, last name, nickname, phone numbers, email addresses, and other similar data. You may also choose to provide profile information like a photo, website link, social media profiles, or other data. Your Profile Data will be publicly viewable by others.
Login credentials; We collect passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
Social Media Login Data: We provide you with the option to register or log in using your social media account details, like your Facebook, Twitter or other social media account. Where you choose to register in this way, we will collect certain profile information from your social media provider about you. The profile Information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, e-mail address, friends list, profile picture as well as other information you choose to make public.
Course data: We collect certain data when you enrol and take courses, including which courses, assignments and quizzes you have started and completed; your exchanges with instructors, teaching assistants, and other students; and essays, answers to questions, and other items submitted to satisfy the requirements of the course.
Information collected automatically: When you access the Services (including searching courses), we collect other information through automated means, including: Technical data about your device, like your IP address, device name and characteristics, operating system type and version, browser language preference, unique device identifiers, browser, domain, information about how and when you use our platforms or services, courses accessed, time spent on the services, pages viewed, features used, your search questions, click details, date and time, and other technical information and data regarding your use of the Services. This information is required primarily to maintain the security and operation of our platforms, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. It is stored by us and associated with your account.
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Necessary Cookies: These are cookies that are strictly essential for our Platform to run. They include, for example, cookies which enable you to log into secure areas of our Platform, use a shopping cart or use e-billing services.

Analytics cookies help us better understand how our users communicate with our platform, allowing us to improve your experience and develop Cash Your Passion, Africa’s services. Functionality cookies: These are used to recognize you when you return to our Platform. This enables us to personalize our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
Advertising cookies: These cookies enables us record your visit to our Platform, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed to help us develop targeted advertising and measure the performance of such ads. You also understand and agree that we may share this information with third parties for this purpose.
How We Use your information
We will only use your personal data for the purpose for which we collected it and which may include the following:
- To register you as a new user/student.
- To process and deliver your order for courses, mentoring, specific services, information or features.
- To manage your relationship with us and account preference;
- To recommend courses & offers which may be of interest to you
- To help us identify and provide the type of service offerings in which you are most interested in;
- To enable us to host the content most relevant to you and to generally improve our services;
- To make the platform easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once;
- To manage risk, or to detect, prevent, and/or remediate fraud or other potentially prohibited or illegal activities; and
- To send periodic emails and marketing materials regarding your interest in our courses and services.
How Information we collect is shared with third parties
Cash Your Passion, Africa will not sell or otherwise disclose personal information we collect about you. We may only share your personal information with third parties under the circumstances described herein:
When a Student enrols in Instructor course, Cash Your Passion, Africa will provide the Instructor (the owners of content that they upload, submit, or otherwise provide to the Cash Your Passion, Africa Platform with access to a limited set of student personal information to enable the Instructor to provide you with their services. Cash Your Passion, Africa will only provide student information to an Instructor upon the purchase or enrolment of a student in the Instructor’s Course. The set of personal information that we share with Instructors are limited to the following:
- Account information, including your name and email address
- Purchase information, including amount paid, your address, and other billing information (but never your complete card number, which we also don’t get)
- Information about your participation in the Instructor Course, including the Instructor Course you enrolled in, lecture completion status, course progress, quiz/project results, and certificates.
- Any messages you exchange with the Instructor through Cash Your Passion, Africa
- IP address
With respect to their specific use of Student Information, the instructor and Cash Your Passion, Africa each act as an individual controller. Instructors accept and consent that it is their duty to comply with all relevant laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information for which they are controllers.
With Students and Other Users
When you use Cash Your Passion, Africa’s services to sell your course as an instructor, information contained in your instructor profile will be visible to students enrolled in the course. Please keep in mind that all of the information that you share or content that you publish in your bio, posts, comments, or other public portions of our Platform becomes public information. Because this information is publicly available, we cannot control how others treat it. We ask you to exercise care in deciding what personal information you choose to share, and refrain from sharing your sensitive personal information and those of others.
With Integrated Services
With Your Consent
Cash Your Passion, Africa may send your personal information to a third party when you give us consent to do so or at your direction. For example, this may occur when we complete a transaction at your request.
With Service Providers
We may share personal information with vendors, instructors, mentors, consultants, payment processors, and other service providers that provide us with certain services and process personal information on our behalf. These services may include providing customer support, performing business and sales analysis, supporting our website functionality, facilitating payment processing, and supporting contests, surveys, and other features offered on our Platform. These service providers are not permitted to use your personal information for any other purpose, and their use of such personal information will be subject to appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
With Business Partners
We sometimes partner with third parties to offer you events, promotions, contests and other programs. To participate in these offers, you may be required to provide your email address and other personal information. We will only share your email address and other personal information with a business partner when you expressly authorize us to do so.
With Advertising and Analytics Partners
We may share usage data with third-party advertisers, advertisement networks, and analytics providers through cookies and other similar technologies. These third parties may collect information sent by your device, browser, or mobile device in response to a request for content, such as unique identifiers, your IP address, or other information about your computer or device.
Cash Your Passion, Africa may be required to disclose personal information if directed by a court of law or other governmental entity. Without limiting the foregoing, we reserve the right to disclose such information where we have a good faith basis to believe that such action is necessary to:
- comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, government and law enforcement agencies’ requests
- protect and defend Cash Your Passion, Africa ’s or a third party’s rights and property, or the safety of Cash Your Passion, Africa, our users, our employees, or others
To the extent permitted by law, we will attempt to give you prior notice before disclosing your information in response to such a request.
Data Storage and Duration
We would only store your data for as long as reasonably appropriate to meet the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. In the event of a complaint, or if we reasonably believe there is a possibility of litigation regarding our relationship with you, we could hold your data for a longer period. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Cash Your Passion, Africa takes adequate security measures including but not limited to access controls, firewalls, data encryption, and physical security to protect your personal information which we collect and store from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure or destruction. These measures differ according to the form and sensitivity of the information. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents and contractors who have a business need to know. These employees, agents, and contractors have a duty to maintain confidentiality at all times and will only process your personal data according to our instructions. However, no system can be 100 percent protected, therefore, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and Cash Your Passion, Africa , the Services, or any information provided to us in connection with the information that we collect through the Services will be free of unauthorized third party access.
You have certain rights over the use of your information including the option to opt out of promotional emails, cookies, and collection of your data by certain analytics providers. You also have the right to:
Request that the personal information that we store about you be corrected. This allows you to have corrected any missing or incorrect data that We hold about you, however we may require to verify the accuracy of the new data that you provide us;
Demand access to personal information (the “data subject access request”). This allows you to obtain a copy of the personal information that we collect about you, and to check that we process it lawfully. Please note that the data subject access request may incur an administrative fee;
Demand that your personal information be deleted. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal data to comply with local law. Note however, that We may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request;
Object to the processing of your personal data where they depend on valid interests (or those of a third party) and there is something about your unique case that causes you to object to the processing on this ground, because you believe it affects your fundamental rights and freedoms. You are also entitled to complaint where we process your personal information for direct marketing purposes. In certain cases, we can establish that We have compelling legitimate grounds for processing your information that overrides your rights and liberties;
Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party. We will provide you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Note that this right only applies to automated information which you initially provided consent for us to use or where we used the information to perform a contract with you. Please note that this request may also attract an administrative fee;

Nevertheless, this will not affect the validity of any processing done before the withdrawal of your consent.
